When updating an academic curricular project, academics must integrate various technical aspects. This update should meet the requirements of national entities, institutional pedagogical models and environment demands. At the National University of Pilar, the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan establishes the sociocritical pedagogical model for all academic units. This choice, product of a deep reflection within the educational community, has an impact on the updating of curricular projects. This paper presents a descriptive bibliographic study, using Google Scholar to explore the elements that make up the curriculum from the sociocritical model, with a non-experimental design. The objective was to characterize the academic curriculum according to this approach in higher education. In the conclusion, it is highlighted that the implementation of the sociocritical model in higher education curriculum represents a complex yet necessary challenge to strengthen the training of professionals committed to social development. Overcoming existing barriers and fostering a critical and participatory educational culture will enable this model to contribute to the construction of a more just, equitable and sustainable society.
