Abstract

The present study was conducted in the city of Asunción - Paraguay. The objective was to carry out a study to determine the in situ situation of the commercialization of organic and agroecological products through companies and social organizations. The research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, where eight institutions were identified as the most relevant in the Asunción, including Eco Agro, Tu Kokue, La asociacion de organizaciones San Ignacio, Mercardito Campesino, La red agroecológica Oxfam (Paraguay), Ce (Altieri, Agroecology: the scientific basis of alternative agriculture, 1987)pag and Conamuri. Where 77.8% of the institutions, if they produce the products they market, the remaining 22.2% constitute the training of production processes and also help the commercialization of agroecological products through fairs. Agroecological producers are organized in associations of peasant and indigenous producers, and are also organized into producer networks, which is a broader partnership in which producer organizations and institutions participate. The main strengths of agroecology lie in Paraguay's natural conditions for its production; Climate, soils, less polluted waters and geographic isolation.
