The consumption of poultry meat has increased considerably in Paraguay, and it is one of the main food items of animal origin that make up the family basket. The objective of the research work was to evaluate the productive parameters of two breeds of dual-purpose chickens reared in an intensive system, where a completely randomized experimental design with two treatments was used, with thirty birds each, which were managed in the same conditions. The duration of the trial was 45 days. The animals were weighed weekly using a digital dynamometer; Likewise, the food offered and surplus food for each breed was weighed on a daily basis. The food offered was of a commercial brand for each stage. The variables studied were: weight gain, daily weight gain, food conversion and food consumption, the data were analyzed by student’s test, with the SPSS statistical program. Significant statistical differences were found between the treatments, in which the Label Rouge breed was superior to the Plymouth Rock Barred breed in all the parameters evaluated.
