Radioactivity in yerba mate from Paraguay
Keywords:
yerba mate, gamma spectrometry, K-40, stimulant beverageAbstract
The levels of radioactivity in yerba mate (Ilex paraguayensis St H) obtained by gamma spectrometry are presented and referred to the context of the results of Mercosur countries. Basically they are due to the radioisotope K-40 and are consistent with the tenors of that element determined by other researchers in Ilex samples.
