Analysis of electrical equipment in operation by thermographic image in an industrial plant

Abstract

The study was conducted in order to diagnose faulty components of electrical devices of uses in industry. For the análisis, the applied method is contactless thermography, using the thermographic camera. The application of thermography was performed on different electrical power distribution devices under low and high voltage. The study results show that all devices operating at low voltage present temperature variations that in them, many exceeded 30 ° C. Devices operating at high voltage do not present significant temperature variations. It is concluded that using the thermal image it is possible to minimize risks and consequences due to faulty electrical equipment especially those operating at low voltage, and its use has proved to be a useful tool for quality control of electrical devices in operation.
